For this cooling tune-up I inspected the air handler and condenser. While inspecting the air handler I noticed a small leak from the Schrader core of the suction line connecting to the EVAP coil. I leak detected and was getting positive Hits on that Schrader indicating there was in fact a leak coming from that spot. When I gauged up the saturation temp was 33° and superheat was 34, I charged the unit to 14° super heat which is what my chart was telling me based off the wet bulb and ambient outdoor temperature. When I left I set the thermostat to 72° and the air coming out was 51°, and 69 in the house giving me a 18 degree Delta.

Customer said that they believed the UV light was causing a smell within the home like burning or ozone and that it could be harmful to them. After inspection no evidence suggest that there is any electrical burning. Co levels are within stable ranges. I did notice the smell however could not find a source. I have shut off the uv system for the time being. I recommend upgrading the air filter to Aprilaire and a duct cleaning as they could absolutely benefit from both. Changed filter while I was here.
Tech Cody and Hunter arrived to customer's home, we met Mr Coates and he directed us inside to the indoor unit and thermostat. Cody started the inspection inside while Hunter went outside to start the washing of the condensing coil. Inside we found the evaporator coil would be cleaned, the blower wheel to be cleaned and the capacitor for the blower motor to be in tolerance, and the filter was not in need of changing. When the unit was turned on to heat the furnace went through all its safeties and all burners turned on without any issue. There was a fixed metering device installed, along with drain protection for the evaporator coil. Outside after the condensing coil had been washed we took our electrical readings, there was no hard start kit installed and this was reflected with a high in Rush amp test. The running amps test for the compressor and fan motor both came back below manufacturer specifications, the capacitor was in tolerance Any condition of the contactor was good. After w

On arrival system was running and cooling producing an 18 degree delta. The indoor unit had clear drain lines and a dirty blower. The coil was clean. The blower capicator was a 20 mfd reading 16.6. Customer declined replacing at this time. The outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but was overamping on start up. I recommended a compressor saver kit. When I left system was running and cooling.
